JTC supported Great Falls Construction Company on the Portland Sea Dogs Clubhouse project by delivering envelope and air barrier code compliance services required under Maine’s updated building energy codes. Our team helped ensure the new facility met the evolving requirements of the Maine Uniform Building and Energy Code (MUBEC) and the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC).

This project reflected Maine’s recent adoption of the 2015 IECC standards, which require both visual inspections and blower door testing for all new construction and additions in municipalities with populations over 4,000.

JTC’s work helped confirm the facility met the latest benchmarks for energy efficiency and performance.

JTC’s services included:

  • Reviewing construction drawings for compliance with energy code requirements
  • Conducting site visits to inspect envelope components and assemblies
  • Performing blower door testing per ASTM E779 and IECC 2021 C402.5.3
  • Verifying compliance with the air infiltration standard of 3 ACH
